Tomorrow is the first Sunday!

It's like Christmas morning! I love the NFL. As excited as I can be for something that has just about zero consequence to my life. A great hobby.

As a reminder I will be posting some lines. I don't really gamble on football games, but following the lines is a really good litmus test of what to expect. Nobody gets them all right. But, if there was anyone on the planet who had a vested interest in the games it would be bookies in Vegas.

My personal pick of the week is the Bears by ten over the Colts. In Chicago. I agree.

Eagles by ten over the Browns.
Jets a three point favorite over the Bills.
Saints an eight point favorite over the Redskins? In New Orleans? Wow, I would take that one.
Patriots by six over the Titans. (This sounds like a great line IMO.)
Vikings by three and a half. Now, I have the Jaguars winning this game in Minneapolis.
Texans by thirteen over the Dolphins. Maybe not thirteen, but poor Snowflakes aren't going to win this game.
Lions nine point favorites over the Rams.
Falcons only a three point favorite over the Chiefs. I would take that. I figure Falcons by at least six.
Packers by five. I have the Packers winning, but five points is a stretch. This game could end on a FG.
Panthers by three over the Bucs.
Seahawks three points over Cardinals.
Broncos are only a two point favorite. I got the Steelers winning this one.
Ravens by seven over the Bengals.
Raiders on MNF against the Chargers in Oakland. Raiders as favorites. Only a point.

What have done for me lately League

It seems that in Fantasy Football there is always THAT guy. Two years ago, I will be honest with you, it was me. If a player had a not so great week I benched him. If a guy had another week I dropped him. Already in my most important League I have someone who snagged WR Kevin Ogletree and dropped RB David Wilson. Playing the waiver wire is a very important part of fantasy football but giving up on a RB in week one seems like a rash decision. 

A work in progress

I just created this blog yesterday. I do know that my focus will be football (specifically the NFL.) I don't really care if people come and visit all that often. I did it more for my own personal space to keep track of my favorite sport.  Actually, I'm lying. I care. You should come in here often and leave comments.

The NFL, for all its haters, has a lot going for it. Fantasy Football is a fun and great way in keeping track of the stars of my favorite NFL teams. Pickems is a weekly way of determining if my finger really is on the pulse of the League. I have been doing it for a few years now just now I have a personal blog for it.

The Eliminator Challenge is just a way of picking a single game a week that I think is most likely to be correct. I'll list alternatives.

Fantasy Football

Every fan of the NFL should play in at least ONE fantasy football league. I think it expands your love for the game. Being a fan of a specific team is GREAT, too. But, when you're a fan of all 32 teams you have a healthy respect for the players.

Eliminator Challenge

Anyone pick the Giants for Week 1? I sure hope not.

I have the Bears as my opening week pick.

However, I am not a Bears fan. I just think the Colts aren't going to turn it around in the first week of Andrew Luck's rookie season. Bears defense is gonna have some fun. Colt defense? Just don't see it.

If you are looking for another good team for Week One you can always go with the Saints, Patriots, or Eagles.
